Methylene Chloride has strong solubility and widely used for organic solvent. It is used to produce demolder, foaming agent, cleaning agent , also used for fumigation, degrease and refrigeration etc. Methylene Chloride is also used in the manufacture of photographic film and polyc arbonate.
Storage and Handling | ||
Store in cool and ventilated warehouses where the temperature is lower than 30℃ and the relative humidity is lower than 80%. Store separately from alkali metals and food chemicals. Wear body-covering clothes and boots, safety glasses, protective Gloves and a dust respirator.
Firefighting Measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Use foam, chemical powder or water spray. Special hazards arising from the chemical: This material may decompose and burn at high temperature and fire and release toxic fumes. Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear breathing apparatus plus protective gloves. Prevent, by any means available, spillage from entering drains or water courses. Use firefighting procedures suitable for surrounding area. DO NOT approach containers suspected to b e hot. Cool fire exposed containers with water spray from a protected location. If safe to do so, remove containers from path of fire. Equipment should be thoroughly decontaminated after use. |
