1. Application:Dimethyl formamide (DMF) as an important chemical raw material and excellentsolvent, mainly used in PU resin, PU leather, acrylic fibers, pharmaceuticals, pesticides,dyes, electronic part cleaning and other industries.
2. Hazard statement(s): Flammableliquid and vapor. Harmful if swallowed. Harmful in contact with skin. Causesmild skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. May damage fertility orthe unborn child. Causes damage to organs (oral, liver, kidneys). Causes damageto organs through prolonged or repeated exposure (inhalation, liver).
3. Description ofnecessary first aid measures
If inhaled: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, giveartificial respiration. Consult a physician.
In case of skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician.
In case of eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consulta physician.
If ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth withwater. Consult a physician.
4. Storage andHandling: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Store locked up. Storein original containers in approved flame-proof area. No smoking, naked lights,heat or ignition sources. 5. FirefightingMeasures: Use Foam, Dry chemical powder, Carbon dioxide, Water spray or fog. Specialhazards arising from the chemical: Liquid and vapour are flammable. Moderatefire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Special protective actions forfire-fighters: Wear full body protective clothing with breathing apparatus.Prevent, by any means available, spillage from entering drains or water course.
